Kanyakunj

Women's Ethnic Fashion Ecommerce. "For Her From Her."

Visit Live Site

Kanyakunj is a women's ethnic fashion storefront selling kurtis, dupattas, co-ord sets and ethnic sets, with a full online shop, product variants, an account and wishlist system, and a blog. The site needed a layout that could carry a large, frequently changing product catalogue without feeling cluttered, and a path from homepage to checkout that stayed short and clear.

1

Design Process

Started from how customers actually browse an ethnic fashion catalogue, by category (dresses, dupattas, co-ord sets, ethnic sets, kurtis, short kurtis), then designed the homepage banners, category grid and product cards to support fast scanning and filtering rather than a single long scroll.

2

Mobile Responsiveness

The product grid adapts from multiple columns on desktop down to a compact, thumb-friendly layout on mobile, with the shop navigation collapsing into a mobile menu and product cards sized so images and pricing stay legible on a small screen.

3

User Experience

Sale and seasonal banners direct attention without overwhelming the homepage, account and cart access stay reachable from anywhere on the site, and product cards show pricing, including sale pricing, clearly enough to support quick comparison while browsing.

4

Website Structure

Homepage leads into a shop section with dedicated category pages, individual product pages with variant selection, an About Us section (Our Story, Blog, Career), account pages (Login, Wishlist, Orders) and the standard policy pages a fashion ecommerce store needs (privacy, terms, cancellation and refund).

5

Performance Considerations

Product photography is the heaviest part of a fashion storefront, so image sizing and lazy loading were prioritized to keep category and product pages loading quickly despite a large, image-heavy catalogue.

6

Results

The catalogue now supports fast category-based browsing instead of a single long scroll, with a mobile-first product grid and lazy-loaded imagery keeping category and product pages fast despite a large, image-heavy catalogue.

The Little Bistro Lounge

Cafe, Coffee & Shisha Lounge. Park Circus, Kolkata, India.

Visit Live Site

The Little Bistro Lounge is a women-owned cafe and lounge on Karaya Road in Kolkata's Park Circus, serving global cuisine, handcrafted coffee and premium shisha in a plant-filled, neighbourhood setting. The site needed to sell the atmosphere itself, since "escape the chaos" is the actual pitch for a calm spot in a dense city neighbourhood, not just list a menu.

1

Design Process

Started from the mood the cafe wanted to sell, a calm, plant-filled escape from the city, rather than a generic restaurant template, using a full-bleed photo of the actual entrance with a dark overlay so the "Embrace Tranquility" headline stays readable against a busy, textured background.

2

Mobile Responsiveness

Navigation (Our Story, Menu, Experience, Reviews) collapses cleanly on smaller screens, and hero copy and CTA buttons stay legible and thumb-reachable on a phone, since most guests are checking hours and menu on the way over.

3

User Experience

The menu is organized into clear categories (Bites & Mains, Desserts, Beverages, Shisha Lounge) with price-range guidance set upfront, and two primary calls to action, "View Menu" and "Our Story", sit right in the hero so both the browsing path and the getting-to-know-you path are one click away.

4

Website Structure

Our Story carries the founder's voice and the Karaya Road location story, Experience covers the day-to-night atmosphere, events and DJ nights, and Reviews surfaces guest testimonials, giving the site a narrative flow rather than a flat menu page.

5

Performance Considerations

Hero and gallery photography carry the site's mood, so image sizing was prioritized to keep the page fast despite being visually rich.

6

Results

The site now leads with atmosphere and a clear browsing path, "View Menu" and "Our Story" are both one click from the hero, reorganized into a narrative structure (Story, Experience, Reviews) instead of a flat menu page.
